Steve Durand - A Beautiful Voice

about

I used the following non-vocal sounds:

Flicking my finger against my cheek
Thumping my fist against my chest
Snapping my fingers
Clapping my hands
Saying "ch-ch"
Whistling
Buzzing my lips

lyrics

My voice is not so hot
I'm trying to get better
But for now it's really all that I've got

To sing the songs I write
I know I shouldn't worry
But it kind of keeps me up late at night

That's when I dream of how
I'd set the world agog
If I could lilt like a meadowlark
Instead of croaking like a frog

I want to hide away
When I get all analytic
And I think of how my critics will say

That I should give it up
But music is my passion
So I'll tolerate their ration of guff

If I could wish for anything
And I only got one choice
Because I love to sing
I'd wish I had a beautiful voice

I'd love to sing on key
When I try to croon
If I could do it naturally
And not resort to Autotune

I try not to forget
That I know that beauty's
In the ear of the beholder and yet

I've got to face the fact
I'm really in no danger
Of singing like a choir of angels and that

What escapes my lips is just
An irritating noise
But the world could hear what's in my heart
If I had a beautiful voice

If I had a beautiful voice

I wish I had a beautiful voice
