It all started with

One red paperclip
And a blogpost that I did
Asking for someone to trade with me

My aim was trading up
To get some better stuff
And to get a house eventually

A fish pen for a doorknob face
A Coleman stove for a generator
These were the first trades on my list

A bar sign and a keg of beer
I traded for a snowmobile
And then a trip to Yahk in a cargo van

A recording contract for some rent
Then almost by accident
I trader for a super duper
Afternoon with Alice Cooper

A deal I made with Corbin Bernsen
Really filled a hole
With a snowglobe for a movie role
I finally reached my goal

Something's worth is hard to measure
One man's trash is another man's treasure
That's a point I think should not be missed
