Edric Haleen - Love
05:06
|
|||
At first,
You’re all anticipation:
When will he call?
Is she the one?
Where could this lead?
At first,
It’s all exhilaration!
Starting to fall . . .
Gathering speed . . .
And you’re flying!
Reaching!
Soaring!
Drowning in happiness!
Dreaming!
Risking all!
Now that you’re falling in love!
In time,
A love begins compounding
Through all the things
That bring you close;
Making you more.
With time,
A love becomes astounding!
Like wings . . .
Helping you soar . . .
And you’re trusting.
Sharing.
Growing.
Helping through compromise.
Building.
Giving all.
Finding a partner in love.
But still,
Your passion can forsake you
When tensions start to grow.
Frustrations overtake you.
Emotions overflow.
And ‘though you don’t mean to,
Your tempers can blow . . .
And you’re shouting.
Straining.
Pleading.
Glaring through arguments.
Fighting.
Losing all.
Reaching the bound’ries of love.
Losing.
Coping.
Aching.
Tortured by loneliness.
Grieving.
Letting go . . .
So now,
‘Though many things remind you
Of what you’ve lost;
Things gone awry --
Have faith,
‘Cause someone new may find you.
And when they do . . .
Maybe you’ll try . . .
And you’re healing.
Seeking.
Dreaming.
Choosing to risk again.
Hoping.
Moving on . . .
For love!

[3/4]
Eleyna drove her car halfway across the river
suspended by steel and the morning mist
dark violet sweeping up under her eyes
an open plastic bottle tight in her fist
she lost track of the clock in early hours
stares out over the water, leans over the edge
ghosts sing in the static of the radio
she hums along, she's always said
"it's only a dream if it doesn't come true
I like it here but I hate the view"
[4/4]
when Eleyna dreams, the sidewalks crack
the sky is falling on all the boys and girls
when Eleyna dreams, we're under attack
she closes her eyes and sees only the end of the world
[3/4]
Eleyna's listening for a tidal wave
Crushing inland to swallow our hometown
Can't keep an eye on the sky at the same time
Shelters only make it easier to drown
she's not alive, at least not in this world
I'd trade my pride if I thought it would reach her
[4/4]
when Eleyna dreams, the sidewalks crack
the sky is falling on all the boys and girls
when Eleyna dreams, we're under attack
she closes her eyes and sees only the end of the world
[BRIDGE - still 4/4]
just over the horizon
she's says that there's a black sun
i've never seen a girl shake like a leaf in the wind
standing in the rain out the back door
she makes me wonder what I'm good for
she says she can't wait to go sleep again
[3/4 - Prechorus with no words]
[Back to 4/4 - Chorus/ending]

Black gold, Texas Tea
Bubblin’ up from the bottom of the sea
But all across the land of the free you can still gas up your SUV
I guess that it might stop someday when it all bubbles up and floats away
And the turtles don’t have much to say as they’re swimming out to sea
And the trains still run and the planes still fly
And the factories still pump smoke in the sky
Our house is full of stuff we’ll keep till we die
But we got to make it somehow
And if we’re gonna waltz with the devil
It’s best to know who leads
I gotta sneaking suspicion that I know who
And it ain’t you and it ain’t me
Cool days. warm nights
Propane grills, electric lights
I can stream any movie I want tonight
My Bose 5.1 makes it sound just right
Got my iPod sync-ed to my laptop
Got my choice of malls if I wanna shop
I don’t want to make it stop but that black gulf is such a sight
You don’t get something without a cost
On the path to freedom I guess we got lost
And the new boss is surely the same old boss
On paper flat and green
If we’re gonna waltz with the devil
It’s best to know who leads
I gotta sneaking suspicion that I know who
And it ain’t you and it ain’t me

[5/8]
I just got home from working all day,
Don't wanna discuss it, nothing to say.
I'm terribly tired, barely can stay awake.
Slip on pajamas, climb into bed,
I fluff up my pillow, lay back my head,
And stare at the ceiling, feeling as if I'm dead.
I only need to find,
Some way to clear my mind,
I want to fall asleep.
[3/4]
Hush! Take a deep breath, close your eyes.
Sweet dreams will find you, ere sunrise.
[5/8]
Lying in bed and trying to fall asleep,
Please don't tell me I should be counting sheep,
Cause I've tried that -- it doesn't work for me.
Tossing and turning throughout the night.
I lay on my left side, then on my right.
It looks like somebody left on the bathroom light.
I can't get any rest,
'Cause I am far too stressed!
I want to fall asleep!
[3/4]
Hush! Take a deep breath, close your eyes.
Sweet dreams will find you, ere sunrise.
[5/8]
I can't describe how helpless I'm feeling,
'Round and around my mind keeps on reeling,
From all the things that I have been dealing with.
Why are my brain and body still warring?
Why aren't I sleeping? Why aren't I snoring?
It's almost five o'clock in the morning now.
Here comes the sun's first ray,
Starting a brand new day.
I never fell asleep!

When I was a child my father told me
stories of pirates who sailed the seas
and plundered and pillaged
singing and drinking all day
When I grew up I knew it was just fantasy
in out age of computers and technology
pirates are neat
but they've been obsolete
since men could now travel in space
As years passed by I aged and I grew
I made my career on a cargo ship's crew
From planet to planet, we packed it and ran it.
Transporting cargo all day
Well one day we all were just doing our jobs
when out of no-where our engines just stopped
the life support's on,
but something was wrong
and this was heard over the P.A.
We're dirty and mean
we'll rob your ship clean
we'll take whatever we like
we constantly lie
we make children cry
we'll flatten the tires on your bike.
We'll eat all your food.
we'll act really rude
we'll make a big mess and admire it.
We chew when we talk
we'll kick your dog
we are the space pirates/
At first I was frightened and shook in my boots
The pirates invaded and started to loot.
I ran and I hid
Like a scared little kid
in a closet in the starboard wing
the pirates had captured the rest of my crew
I frantically asked myself "What do I do?"
Which mode of behavior
would make me their savior
and from my hidingplace i heard them singing
were rithless and mad
we;ll make you feel bad
we'll hurt you in front of your mates
we'll kill you for sport
we'll pull down your shorts
we are the space pirates.
we're angry and strong
we sing dirty songs
we'll take it if we desire it.
We'll laugh really smugly
we'll call your mom ugly
we are the space pirates.
Immediately then I knew just what to do
to save the lives of myself and of my crew
I ran to the bar
to take what was thar
and with it burst into the helm
I held up the bottles for them all to see
I threatened to smash the if they didn't leae
They released my crew
and I gave them their brew and with that they were overwhelmed.
There is a moral to this traveller's tale
There's something to pack before you ever set sail
They may have bad tempers
but always remember
Pirates do anything for romulan ale.
We're dirty and mean
we'll rob your ship clean
we'll take whatever we like
we constantly lie
we make children cry
we'll flatten the tires on your bike.
We'll eat all your food.
we'll act really rude
we'll make a big mess and admire it.
We chew when we talk
we'll kick your dog
we'll kill you for sport
we'll pull down your shorts
We'll laugh really smugly
we'll call your mom ugly
we are the space pirates.
Yarr!

[3/4]
The silver-white light shows secrets
On your eyes
The branches are bare as you
Cut me down to size
That storm keeps its distance
The air catches our breath
Sooner or later
There will be nothing left
[5/4]
So spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with me
But don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on me
Don't waste your time on me
[3/4]
The moonlight mingles
With the sun's waning rays
Bright orange longing
Will cancel your melancholy greys
You hear on the breeze
The words that you'd never confess
Only a cold Winter's night
Can tell you the rest
[5/4]
So spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with me
But don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on me
Don't waste your time on me
(Instrumental bridge in 3/4)
[3/4]
I'll push to the back of my mind
Your words left unsaid
Wouldn't you know it,
The sun is coming up red
[5/4]
Spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with,
Spend a little time with me
But don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on,
Don't waste your time on me
Don't let me touch you,
Don't let me feel you,
Don't let me hold you down
Don't let me stop you,
Don't let me stop your
World from turning around

(Verse 1: 6/8 time)
I respect you
And I believe you try to do good
But you've gotten used to
A way of taking much more than you should
And we've let you
Get used to a comfort that more of us could
Enjoy, and feel
For once, for real
And to feel like
We're part of a team
So please please please
Understand what it means
That you're making a choice
In times like these
It will come like the tide
In a unified voice
We'll say...
(Chorus 1: 5/8 time, 3/8 polyrhythm)
...that we're here at the door
There will be many more
Don't be scared but be sure
We're prepared to endure
The wildest ride of all our lives
And if you'll fight don't be surprised
That we're hangin' on...
(Verse 2: 6/8 time)
In case you doubted
There are many more of us
Than you've counted
And we do know that it's crowded
In there but it's
Crowded out here
I just want a seat at this table
Looking for a place
That's stable enough
To stake my claim
To lay my foundation
And shout my name
So please please please
Understand I'm a friend
But I'll tell you again
(Chorus 2: 5/8 time, 4/8 polyrhythm)
That we're here at the door
There will be many more
If you just make some room
Then this place will grow too
And you could stand to clear the air
Just take my hand, there's room in there
And we're hangin' on...
(Outro: 4/4 time, 3/4 polyrhythm)
I respect you
But I have to ask you
Please hear me out
Don't you wrangle me down
Don't wrangle me down, or rein me in

VERSE I (3/4)
Don't sit
And watch the world go by
There are things
That only you can do
You bring
Someting that's unique
In all of time and space
There's noone else like you
CHORUS (5/4)
Light up
Shine forth
Like a
Blazing star
Step out
Reveal
The rare bird
That you are
VERSE II (3/4)
There's no
Need to be afraid
Don't wait
For your life to unfold
If you
Just take tht first step
You'll find
That fate rewards the
REPEAT CHORUS (5/4)
VERSE III (3/4)
You have
Talents no one's seen
No need
For them to be concealed
You always
Star in your own dreams
But now
It's time to make them real
REPEAT CHORUS (5/4)

(3/4 time)
(4/4 time)
I wrote us a sweet song
Where the rhythms and the melodies
Never needed to change
With words so beautiful they'd make you
Say you'd give up everything and
Decide to stay
Drifted off to sleep that night
Thinking I had captured us
In a perfect light
Of a future life
Woke up the next day
Excited to listen to the
Recording I'd made
So I played it back to myself
But the story I'd invented was
Predictable
It was boring as hell
So thank God
(3/4 time)
This is not that song
No, this is not that song
(4/4 time)
Lesson learned today
No matter how I write it down
It won't stay the same
We're all built to change
So thank God
(3/4 time)
Life is not one song
No, life is not one song

[2/4 time signature]
The clock is ticking
Sand spills away
Some things may happen
Yet all's the same
I feel I'm standing
On solid ground
But what's below it?
Could it fall down?
There in the mirror
It looks like me
But something's missing
I just can't see
Outside, a smile
Within, a frown
Only the clock hands
Go all the [3/4 time signature] way round
But in another universe
Everything's reverse
Life is sublime
There's another me
Dancing fancy free
All the words rhyme
Each to their own rhythm
And I'm right there with 'em
But that's in another place and a-[2/4 time signature]-nother time
It's love or money
They're foes or friends
Selfish or selfless
Uses or thems
Choose Column A or
From Column B
We can't pick both sides
Nor in between
Through life I tiptoe
Eggshells each spot
I'm scared of changing
And scared of not
It doesn't matter
Just who's to blame
If I do nothing
Then life stays [3/4 time signature] the same
But in another universe
Left and right converse
No ors, just ands
Calm instead of strife
Grabbing hold of life
With all three hands
Nothing is neglected
Everything accepted
Everyone just understands
Yes, in another universe
Everything's reverse
Life is sublime
There's another me
Dancing fancy free
All the words rhyme
Each to their own rhythm
And I'm right there with 'em
But that's in another place and another time

Jenny Katz - Miss You
02:46
|
|||
[chorus in 5/4; verses in 3/4]
[in 5]
I miss you like water, I miss you like day
Miss you like the tonic when the dominants playin'
I miss you like the light at the end of the road
Way a seed misses the sun, I miss you like the one
[in 3]
A couple of times when your autumn eyes looked into mine
Time just stopped in my breast
And then you laughed and looked away
And the clock got back to ticking
And the sun continued west
Ought to be easy not to see you
I'm Telling myself I don't need to
Next thing I know I'm out speeding
Heart racing toward our next meeting
Half embarrassed
But I don't care
[in 5]
Cause I miss you like water, I miss you like day
Miss you like the tonic when the dominants playin'
I miss you like the light at the end of the road
Way a seed misses the sun, I miss you like the one
[in 4]
interlude
[in 3]
A couple of words I overheard
But I was not sure just exactly what you meant
Dying to ask but in case the answer's no
I'd rather not know just this yet
Cause maybe I'm misunderstanding
Probably I'm only projecting
Think I'm gonna keep on pretending
Rather than flip to the ending
Fairly embarrassed
But I don't care
[in 5]
Cause I miss you like water, I miss you like sky
Miss you like the tonic when I'm playin' the five
Miss you like a light at the end of the road
Way a seed misses the sun, I miss you like the one

(a 4/4/ or 2/4 or whatever)
Look at me..
You don’t like
What you see
You wanna change
me, I see
You reframe me into
flexibility ...
You know I can bend just how you want me
… just like
time, just exactly .. like a trapdoor.
U-turn, rugburn
crawl along the dirty floor
feel your way, dripping
moving now you're slipping through the wormhole
wanting more to your event horizon
you kneel on the floor
begging to be cuffed to my oblivion
CH (6/8)
I thought I'd be different
I thought I'd be heard
like when I had hand
but you've got the last word
But I don't seem to mind
I got nothing but time
(4/4 ish)
Life hands you my lemons
I'm afraid,
sampled several swallows of your lemonade
and you wanna squeeze me cuz you say like it sweet
but it goes bitter quicker when you think to try and trick me
don't mind sticky when you're giving me a treat
show and tell show me something that you know you do well
let you go down so fast
I'm a reasonable girl give and take for a taste
Make it last.. want some sugar - be up for the task!
CH
I know I can smell and feel your taste
'cuz you came and went in great haste
Won't you come back inside
I got nothing but time
(4/4)I must be wandering in your night time
screamed right straight through your sweet crime
…..and I twisted and writhed under your watchful eyes.
I wish that I was made of time
would you mind giving me SOME time.

JoAnn Abbott - Life
04:33
|
|||
You start off little
The spring sun shining through your door
Soon you’re moving
Crawling, walking cross the floor
Then you’re running outside on your own, to catch the ice cream man
Well if your mom says it’s ok with her-
You meet new people
You’re making friends and enemies
Bullies find you
Like skeeters on a summer breeze
And you can’t stay up and watch TV it’s time to go to bed
*sigh!* You wish that you were bigger, but you’re small-
And getting older.
Chorus
And the sun comes up on a brand new day
The day is gone when you blink
So much to do; now you’re on your way
You hardly have time to think, it’s
Over in just a blink.
Next stop is High School
Hormones driving you insane
You find your first love- and your first heartbreak and pain
While you long to learn to drive, you’ve got to wait another year
What jerk was it who thought up algebra?
You’re almost ready!
College, job, a wedding ring
You hold your baby- feel the joy within you sing
And your folks become your friends as your life’s summer turns to fall
Till one day they aren’t there- you feel a chill
You’re getting older
Chorus
The sun comes up on another day
The days fly past when you blink
So much to do still, you rush, and pray
There’s not enough time to think-
Life changes inside a wink.
Good Grief- you’re fifty?
You look at all you dreamed and did
Forgive the screw-up’s
Learn from the past- act like a kid!
Drive around and see the things you always wanted to before
Play with grandkids- see another new MD
Bifocal glasses
Speak up! Folk mumble all the time
Half price at movies!
Take pride in silver hairs that shine
While your body slows the winter days all fly past in a blur
Try to catch them but too late- they all are gone
You’ve gotten older
Chorus
As the sun comes up on the final day
Unknown till that final blink
No more to do now, at close of day
You say good bye as you think-
My life went by in a wink.
You say your prayers, close your eyes and slip away
And where you wake up,
It’s a brand new bright spring day

I'm bored, so bored
Breath streaks mist and forms the clouds above
My dreams drift and fade in azure skies
World's worn white and I am bored
To tell the truth I'm losing all feeling
December numbs my closest touch
Snow has buried my empty heart's heath
A heart that's closed to bloom
A fire is rising over my home, I run from the blaze
My heart's ice melting in flames' sanctum
I've fallen for a holy man, this temple holds desire
For a man who's sworn to love no one
The world is spinning, I am unspun
From the cobwebs that blot out my heart
A golden star burst by the heat of another
A mother's son has torn the girl out from me
Hours drag like seasons while you're gone
But a plan springs formed from my heart
A fire brought you close and I've such a spark
That my passion will fuel the flames
A fire is growing in my bedroom, I call for alarms
To carry me to my true lover's arms
But the city watch watched my ruse
I'm taken for a fool, I'll never see you again
I lie alone in this stone cold cell
Alone as we must be 'till we die
I can't lie to save my life, I have no regrets
I'll burn for the torch I carried

How Low Will You Go?
Hey.. did I see Nancy Out there? Nancy Greely? I mean, now it's Nancy Wilson.
Congratulations to you and Chuck getting married. I remember like it was just yesterday in High School when we went out. And you dumped me.
How Low Will You Go?
How Low Will You Go?
I Slept with the Ho.
How Low Will You Go?
How Low Will You Go?
How Low Will You Go?
Trashed my Camer-o
How Low Will You Go?
Nancy - you probably don't remember me or the times we had. But I do.
The Beach. The Clubs. The Stripper Pole. In Fact, I had a slideshow made up.
You take some great candid photos when you've had a few in you.
Did you know that?
Here's Nancy Wilson like you've never seen her before!
Watch her balance on the high wire!
Not everyone can wear a thong like that, Nancy.
Remember folks. It's not nice to call Nancy a Whore. Even if she is one.
How Low Did She Go?
How Low Did She Go?
Let's Check out the Show!
How Low Did She Go?
How Low Did She Go?
How Low Did She Go?
Let's Check out the Show!
How Low Did She Go?
Nancy - You are such a heavy sleeper when you drink - Here's a great shot of your you sprawled on the floor. You'd think you would wear more clothes than that, since it was a public lavatory. I do think that's your best cheek by the way.
How Low Will I go?
How Low Will I go?
I've called her a Ho
How Low Will I go?
How Low Will I go?
How Low Will I go?
Get your sisters to Blow?
How Low Will I go?
How Low Will I go?
How Low Will I go?
Let's watch the Vid-E-O
How Low Will I go?
Yeah, that's right, Nancy. I did your sisters Mary and Brandy - at the same time. While you were sleeping off on that post colitial 5th of Jack you had earlier. Should I mention we did it in the same room….
Jack was his name, right? But wait… you married Charlie this afternoon!
I guess Charlie's bride got hi-jacked! Or maybe he just Jacked you up in your drunkified state? It wouldn't be the first time...
Anyway Nancy - I made copies of this video and posted it to all your friends on Facebook and YouTube. No Need to thank me. Consider it a wedding present for you on your happiest of days. Bitch.

[introduction, 6/4 time]
[chorus, 3/4 time]
Minutes and hours keep me awake
Minutes and hours allow me to say
That which is ours shall never fade
These minutes and hours at the end of my day.
[verse, 4/4 time]
Midnights bring showers as the sun falls away
Lightning, like fire, produces, let's say
Something like flowers, a beauty this night
In minutes and hours may shed their last light.
[instrumental bridge, 6/4 time]
[chorus, 3/4 time]
Minutes and hours know I'm a friend.
Kings and those higher say let's begin
Finished, not tired, all things must end
Together acquired, as it is, not has been.
[verse, 4/4 time]
Sweet and yet sour are the times of this life
Bold, sometimes coward, I laugh to defy
Minutes and hours, a long lost romance
This time is ours, if only by chance
[chorus, 3/4 time]
Minutes and hours keep me awake
Minutes and hours allow me to say
That which is ours shall never fade
These minutes and hours at the end of the day.
[instrumental, 6/4 time, with 4/4 in the final 3 measures]
