My, you keep on changing
Every winter, every fall
There's been rearranging
Still, I see through it all.
How many times must I come back to you before you let me stay?
I'll keep on crossing the sea
To see you London
We'll be back together someday
All the people Love you
I can never get you alone
Can't stop thinking of you
You, dear, feel like Home.
My Love is caught up in shops and traffic
History, books, and plays
And every song that you sing
Is for me, London
We'll be back together someday
Kensington Gardens are calling me
Sam and Rowan - I'll be going soon
My Love is caught up in shops and traffic
History, books, and plays
And every song that you sing
Is for me, London
We'll be back together someday
We'll be back together someday
We'll be back together someday
We'll be back together someday
We'll be back together someday
We'll be back together someday

There's a diner down the road
They say it has a name
But everyone who goes there
They just call it the diner
There was a library here
But when it got old
We filled it up with dynamite
And watched it explode
At Christmas time you could see the little Santas
Wave their hands you could watch them for free
But now when you walk these cold cavernous halls
You'll shed a tear, now there's a fee
There's a bush in the corner of the front yard
With a hand that waves as the cars go by
And every few years when the rains come down
You could jump from your window splash all around
In Fairfield
You could get fries and gravy
HEY! There's my brother Davey
Playing softball early Sunday morning
Some say Calandras, others say Calandras
I don't give a damn just give me my bread
In Fairfield, there used to be Good Tymes
Some of these things
They come and go
But forever in my mind they'll stay
Who did you know
Stevenson or Churchill
They prepared you for your future life
So I threw all my change at the Space Invaders
And defended of town from the missiles in the sky
In Fairfield
You could get fries and gravy
HEY! There's my brother Davey
Playing softball early Sunday morning
Some say Calandras, others say Calandras
I don't give a damn just give me my cake
In Fairfield, there used to be Good Tymes

Tin sheet houses, thousands in a mile
Ten people round a fire wanting warmth just for a little while
Somewhere in Durban
I saw a thousand rich, poor men
Rocky castles reach the skyway
Around the ocean a mountain highway
Somewhere in Capetown
I learned to let my hair down
Oh whoah that’s where I'm whole
Oh whoah just a body with a hungry soul
And if this city takes my light
That’s where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
Where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
Where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
A bike path, to a golden savanna
Sand dunes are burning in the sun
Drive down to Jeffrey’s bay
Watch my busy life from miles away
This is where it began, where it began
Oh whoah this is where I'm whole
Oh whoah a hungry body with a hungry soul
And if this city takes my light
That’s where I'm gonna go,
Oh whoah this is where I'm whole
Oh whoah A body with a hungry soul,
And if this city takes my light
That’s where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
Where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
That’s where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
That’s where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go
That’s where I'm gonna go, gonna gonna go

Dark as night
As the town begins to stir
Parson white
Tramping through the frozen firs
Dozing birds alight
Bells ring out
In the frosty morning air
Children shout
All the words a Frigidaire
Fred Astaire daydream
Darling, maybe someday
We will wake up to a
Golden Valley Sunday
Home once more
Like days of yore
City streets
Slick with dirty city sleet
Sojourners
Sick with the monotony
Endless weeks of gray
Far from here
There's a cozy breakfast nook
Picture dear:
Just the way that it would look
In a midday dream
Darling, maybe someday
We will wake up to a
Golden Valley Sunday
Home once more
Like days of yore
Darling, maybe someday
We will wake up to a
Golden Valley Sunday
Home once more
Like days of yore
And the world will sing again

Red lights blow past, on angry tailgates
Headlights don’t ask, they interrogate
Your ties have been cleft
From the moment you left, there’s no coming home anymore
Forevermore you’re alone, whenever you’re home in Darktown
Here in Darktown
Princeton* Marquees have got something to say
Building Banshees wail GO AWAY
Found somewhere better
Did you think that we’d just let it go? No no no
Your ties have been cleft
From the moment you left, there’s no coming home to Darktown
The Laundromat shines, glares in disdain
The dollar store sign stares without shame
Snickering streetlights, Places-to-eat lights
Filthy windows glow at both town bars
Light pollution... clouds out the moon and the stars...
Do the lights glower on their own power
Or are you just catching reflections?
Your ties were severed
You found somewhere better, there’s no coming home to Darktown
Forevermore you’re alone, whenever you’re home in Darktown.
Here in Darktown
Forevermore you’re alone, whenever you’re home in Darktown.
Here in Darktown
In Darktown

Ross Durand - From There

Well the hill across the street seemed a world away
We’d disappear around the corner be gone all day
Santa Ana winds blowin’ right in our face
And yet I guess I just thought this was any old place
A thousand oaks on a hundred hills
Open spaces and childhood thrills
Anywhere I go, don’t matter where
Yeah I’ll always be from there
Well the pedals of a bike could take you any place
Yet it always felt like it was uphill both ways
Then we started to drive and we drove away
I guess I always figured I’d come back someday
A thousand oaks on a hundred hills
Open spaces and childhood thrills
Anywhere I go, don’t matter where
Yeah I’ll always be from there
They say you can’t go back home, at least that’s what I hear
But I tried to go back there anyway, home just wasn’t there
Well a thousand oaks gave this town it’s name
There’s still one down at city hall, at least that’s what they say
And the hill across the street’s got tennis courts
And a long, long driveway you can’t see down, of course
A thousand oaks on a hundred hills
Open spaces and childhood thrills
It’s not that way now, but I don’t care
I’ll always be from there
I’ll always be from there

Ben Walker - Oxford

Andrew scoops up half a pint of pistachios
And an empty for the shells
It's two AM in the Rose and Crown
Stumbling round the bar he grabs a jar
Full of beetroot pickled eggs
Says these are the best in town
The country's leading authority on Marxist anthropology
Finishes her brandy and slips quietly to the floor
And you get the sinking feeling that you've done this all before
Oh, Oxford, it's like a roll of bubble wrap
The singalong bit in an old familiar song
Oh, Oxford, it's a spring attached to your back
You can leave but you won't be gone for long
I go to get a coffee, try to clear
That noisy buzzing in my head
Find some shelter from the rain
I pass a bunch of students talking
Thundercats and Descartes in the street
It's that time of year again
They're only just discovering the joys of one another
And a city where they let you be as nerdy as you like
And every thirty seconds somebody steals a bike
Oh, Oxford, it's like a roll of bubble wrap
The singalong bit in an old familiar song
Oh, Oxford, it's a spring attached to your back
You can leave but you won't be gone for long
(Yeah, Oh Yeah)
And oh, don't you think that it's so nice
My little patch of paradise
Let's hope the bubble doesn't pop
And so, I'll never have to look around
My tiny piece of tiny town
Cause it's easier not to
I left and went to London for a while
Tried to make it there
I don't know why I bothered
Nowhere else has quite the combination
Of snobbishness and charm
That Oxford has to offer
I'd been away for ages but nothing ever changes
And when I made it back and took my seat beside the bar
Andrew smiled and asked me, "Did you get very far?"
Oh, Oxford, it's like a roll of bubble wrap
The singalong bit in an old familiar song
Oh, Oxford, it's a spring attached to your back
You can leave but you won't be gone for long
Cos everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
Your troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name

In honor of SpinTunes Two . . .
We’d like to present to you . . .
A “not-so-very-long,”
Completely worthless song
About Lansing, Michigan!
Lansing, Michigan’s
The greatest place on earth!
So why not come to Lansing
And be part of all the mirth?
We’re selling houses here
For nearly half of what they’re worth
In Lansing, Michigan!
Don’t believe the news --
Our city’s not a dive.
Our unemployment’s ten percent,
But -- eh! -- we still survive!
‘Cause once GM is solvent,
Our economy will thrive
In Lansing, Michigan!
It’s true -- for major sports teams
We’re a little too far west.
We can go watch the Lugnuts,
But Detroit’s got all the rest.
But even if we’re lacking,
There’s a fact that brings us smiles --
We’re very proud to say
There’s not a Wolverine for miles!!
Lansing, Michigan
Is where you oughtta be!
So many bars to frequent
And so many sights to see!
And if you come to visit
You could come and visit me!!
In Lan...
(Don’t be a prima donna!)
...sing . . .
(You know you really wanna!)
Michigan!
(We don’t you come and visit me?)
(It’s nowhere NEAR Ohio!!!)

Driving past the sign
I just got to laugh
"Population 50"
There couldn't be half
That many souls
Who have made a home within
These so called city limits
It doesn't take a minute
To drive from one side to the other
But you can't judge a place
By the ground that it covers
If the news is a battle
We are soliders far from the fight
At least we can look up and see stars at night
Drifting past the place
I wrote songs with my band
I remember things I learned
I still don't understand
Steetlights shining
Off the gravel
Of quiet streets where no cars travel
Empty buildings, the cemetary
Forgotten founders and secrets buried
This town has lived longer than I ever will
With all of it's people come and gone
Somehow no matter where I've been, or what I've seen
I still miss the stars over Avalon
And it's quiet but for sounds
That we make ourselves, you see
It's not so bad as long as you
Can stand your own company
For what we might lack
In artificial light
At least we can look up and see stars at night,
See The stars at night
See The stars at night
See The stars at night
Sometimes I still miss the stars
Sometimes I still miss the stars

You've seen it on the news: crippling devastation.
You can't sit silent from afar.
You're needed now. Everyone from every nation,
Because the world is what we are.
Now's your chance to help the people of South Bend
A life that's healed with every dollar that you send.
We'll rebuild better, stronger, faster and this tragedy will end.
Because we know...
At least we're not St. Louis. A blessing lines the curse.
We've had our share of bumps and bruises, yet it could be worse.
The streets go mostly unpoliced. The jail's on fire, still at least
We're not St. Louis. But give us money.
This Godzilla-looking thing, "Godzilla" we're assuming
Crushed into metal, wood, and stones
The Chocolate Cafe, but not before consuming
A whole big thing of Toblerones. (there's no more Toblerones)
The Morris and the College Football Hall of Fame
Are both destroyed and the river set aflame.
Console the families of the students swallowed whole at Notre Dame
By reminding them...
At least we're not St. Louis. A blessing lines the curse.
We've had our share of bumps and bruises, yet it could be worse.
We've been trampled by a beast. Not much left standing, but at least
We're not St. Louis. But no, it's bad here.
'Cause there are places on the Earth
Full of misery and suffering.
From Mogadishu to Detroit and Kandahar for what it's worth,
Come on and join us while we sing...
At least we're not St. Louis.
A blessing lines the curse.
We've had our share of bumps and bruises,
Yet it could be worse.
Insurance rates have all increased.
The zoo's gone empty, but at least
We're not St. Louis...
At least we're not St. Louis.
A blessing lines the curse.
We've had our share of bumps and bruises,
Yet it could be worse.
Half the city's now deceased.
Nothing grows here, but at least
We're not St. Louis...
Or Sacramento.

I’ve been living backwards
I’ve been retracing my steps
Trying to find the right words
To unlock these moments I’ve kept
I’ve been playin hookie
From the future that is knockin at my door
I keep coming back here
I don’t know what I come back here for
Because the streets are dark, the shops are closed
There’s not a soul here that I know
This place was once my home
Guess I hoped I’d find you here
Take me back to the beginning
Back to the years we rocked this town
Before the world was spinning
Before the walls came crashing down
We were young and we were clueless
Always chasin' something new
Making music to get through it
Makin love ‘cause there was nothing else to do
And we dreamed of breaking out
Living free and singing out loud
What I’d give to go back now
What’d I’d give to find you
Just to find you
To find you
(Yeah)
(Yeah)
(Ohhhh)
And I remember what you told me
On that cold December night
From the hills above Brookings
We looked down on the city lights
And you said we were forever
That this was just the start
As long as we’re together
Then we’ll never grow apart
But time has carried on
And you’ve been proven wrong
It’s time I’m movin on
Guess I'll hope you'll find
I hope you'll find
You know that you can always find
Me here

When we were young we moved to Kihei
That sleepy Maui town
We had our house on Panepo'o street
Plumerias all around
While we were there we had our children
Like the humpback whales do
I'm so glad I got to live in paradise with you
Remember when we walked the tide pools
At Kamaole beach
And no matter what the season
The weather was a treat
At Kalama park we'd watch the sunset
Into a sea of sapphire blue
I recall those happy times
In paradise with you
When we arrived we knew our stay there
Was only for a while
And we said a fond aloha
To the Valley Isle
Now many years have passed since we moved on
And this I know is true
I'll always live in paradise
As long as I'm with you

I grew up near the woods
The setting was alright for me
We moved there when my parents split up
The future would just wait and see
In Woodsetts, strangers smiled as they passed
In Woodsetts, where my dreams ran so fast
We did lot's of good things
And sometimes things that were wrong
But the bad trips and mushrooms we swallowed
I won't mention here in this song
In Woodsetts, the boy racers would ride
In Woodsetts, only speed was their guide
Hell, I didn't believe in religion, joined the church anyway
Just to get the free tea and biscuits at the end of the day
Sometimes they'd let our band practice
In the recreation ground
We'd turn up our amps to 11
With no neighbours nowhere around
In Woodsetts, where my mum took me in
She got angry if I drank all her gin
But she'd let me and my friends drink there all night
Said, as long as she could hear our voices she was alright.
All together we would play
Avoid the fights and smoke away
The girls in the fields with dreams in their eyes
And we were searchin' for songs 'tween their thighs
I grew up in Woodsetts!

Let's make our move
Down to the river
Where life will float by slowly
We'll trade our cars
In for a house boat
You've always said we work too hard
Just take a breath, inhale
It's Stillwater, MN air
You turn up your nose, but to me
Dead fish never smelled so sweet
We'll raise our kids
Here on the river
They'll learn to swim like dolphins
You teach them to read
And I'll teach them skills that
All little lumberjacks need
Just dip your toes in first
The water is safe and warm
You ask, "Why's it yellow and brown?"
Well it's honey and chocolate to me
When times are tough we pull
Up anchor and follow the rising tide
But as we float along
Our friends and family pass us by
So let's not be hasty
Let's find another town
And a house anchored to the ground
The river life was serene
But only for one daydream

I wake up in the morning
And wonder how you are
Its been so long since I've seen you
Do I even know where you are
I try to travel lightly
As I stare at the open road
I wish the lines would move faster
So I can get where I need to go
Cuz, I'm going home to Mount Holly
Where I know I can be free
Yea, I'm going home to Mount Holly
Where I know you'll always be
The sign says your far away
But in my heart you're never gone
Yea I know where I need to be
And thats in Mount Holly where I can be me
Yea, I'm going home to mount Holly
Where I know I can be free
I'm going home to Mount Holly
Where I know you'll always be
Where I know you'll always be

He came from Pennsylvania
His identity unknown
A monster made of mud and rock
His heart was made of stone
Every town he came upon
He left it like Pompeii:
Victims truly petrified
They called him John The Clay
Banished from New Jersey
Just before he reached his prime
A warlock from the future
With a taste for twisting time
He vowed to get revenge
And open up Pandora's box
And he came here to do it
Za-Dok: The King Of Clocks
This kinda thing will happen
When two powers go unchecked
The chaos they create can't be ignored
Their destinies, eventually
Will have to intersect
And that's when the order is restored
The people in the settlement
Were clearly unprepared
When Za-Dok teleported in
He had them running scared
His cloak and cowl were tattered
There was anger in his eyes
And he dusted off his shoulder
Just as John The Clay arrived
The mud man took no notice
Of that wizard in the street
He just started up his gimmick
Coating people in concrete
"I swear I'll find a way
To make you die," the warlock screamed
And John The Clay just
Looked him in the eye...and beamed
This kinda thing will happen
When two powers go unchecked
The chaos they create can't be ignored
Their destinies, eventually
Will have to intersect
And that's when the order is restored
Their battle razed the village
With their sorcery and ore
Ohio'd never seen
This kind of ravaging before
But then appeared a stranger
His apparel red and black
He watched them for a moment
Then he readied his attack
The stranger started trembling
So fast his image blurred
He raised his fist and slammed the ground
And never said a word
John The clay was shattered
When the stranger struck the Earth
That King Of Clocks was killed
A thousand years before his birth
They called this man The Quaker
And they owed him all their lives
For evil nearly killed them
But he made it pay the price
To honor him, they named the town
The thing it was the least
They called it Salem
The City...Of Peace
This kinda thing will happen
When two powers go unchecked
The chaos they create can't be ignored
Their destinies, eventually
Will have to intersect
And that's when the order is restored

Ann Arbor
You haven't got a harbor
But you've got a big arbor-
etum, and enormous U-
niversity; you've harbored me
Since I was twenty-three
But now I'm...
Leaving Ann Arbor, packing up my apartment
I'd share my regret but regret's not my department
It's been a fun lifestyle, but Ann Arbor
I just can't afford to love you anymore
In 1990
Zingerman's was just a deli
Borders was just a bookstore
Without pretentions to be more
One cafe is all I needed
My hairline had not receeded
But now I'm...
Leaving Ann Arbor, packing up my apartment
I'd share my regret but regret's not my department
It's been a fun lifestyle, but Ann Arbor
I just can't afford to love you anymore
You're liberals who say
"That's so very fucking gay"
You're a traffic nightmare
Every football Saturday
You're overpriced restaurants
That follow every trend
You're the good schools my kids
Aren't allowed to attend
Your home prices are obscene
It's insane, I'm not so keen
To drop a cool quarter mil
Don't want to pay the mortgage bill
For a tiny little shack
With no yard out in the back
The market's ready for correction
It's gonna lose its erection
My disclosure: your foreclosure
Will make you lose your composure
Ann Arbor you're a pipe dream
You're high property tax
You're diversity
But without any blacks
You're a pretty young thing with an
Oozing cold sore
You're a fraud, you're a cheat,
You're an overpriced whore
It's my soul that's a stake
'Cuz I know your love is fake
Not to mention my empty bank
Account, you skank
I'ts been a good ride
But I'm swallowing my pride
I've given up, I'm done, I'm through
I can't afford to love you
Any more - no, I can't afford to love you
Any more
(spoken interlude)
I'm leaving Ann Arbor
I'm leaving Ann Arbor
I'm leaving Ann Arbor
I'm leaving Ann Arbor
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)
(I'm leaving Ann Arbor)

Now.... I see the sun fall
On the town where I belong.
The wide Dundee sky
That I've known
All my life... Could I go
Off to the end
Of the world?
We'd fly.........................
How can I
Leave behind
The Law and the Tay?
Taking them down,
To the end
Of the world.
Although I love this town,
It's time that I
Learn to fly.
Leaving behind
All I've known,
To find what I can find.
Fly, to the end
Of the world.
If we can we'll make it our prize,
All we can do with all we can find.
Where we are from is a space in our minds
Taking, creating, the places inside.
The towns that we left we'll find in our world,
The love that we hold,
We're taking tonight,
Taking tonight,
Taking tonight,
To the end...

Los Angeles is near
Everyone is here
I see you in my dreams
Wish that you were close
You're on the other coast
It's farther than it seems
I love this town like I love the freeway
3000 miles just to see your face
I've got a rundown honda civic from '95
When I see you tonight let's drive
Look at the mountains, look at those trees
Look at me, God, I am on my knees
Another wonderful day
And I love this town like I love the freeway
3000 miles just to see your face
I Love LA
I Love LA
I Love LA
I Love LA

I smell the fog and eucalyptus
Looking back I find it so delicious
Every single time that I try to go down to the beach in San Francisco
Walking around where the sun never comes
Walking around where the sun never comes
And I don’t know why I come back
And I don’t know how I really feel
But I want to find the sun
In San Francisco
And then there’s a place where the mottled run
Eating Chinese food on Geary is something you never do at home
One of these nights you arrive
And you’re vying to fight at a time
When you want to alight
But you always come back to the west
And it’s all confusion at best
What’s that what you say?
There’s nothing more to relate
Rolling along in my San Francisco
I taste the sea salt
I hate to sleep all day
Down to the Shore House
It’s drowning more of me
The City
Ow it’s killing me
I see the Bay and Golden bridges
Looking back I find it quite pernicious
Every single time that I wander around in the park in San Francisco
Circle around till I know where I am
Circle around till I know who I am
What’s that what you say?
I’ll find the truth on Broadway
Selling my soul to breathe
In San Francisco
In San Francisco
In San Francisco

My Town's so small
It doesn't have a shopping mall
Round here, that's like nowhere at all
Some guy got killed down at the Corner Bar
Took a punch right to the head
Now his body's lying down in the hospital
It doesn't know he's already dead
My town's so small
It doesn't have a shopping mall
Round here, that's like living in nowhere at all
My town's so small
It doesn't have a shopping mall
Round here, that's like living in nowhere at all
One exit on past Rogers,
Just before the Outlets at Albertville
There you're gonna find St. Micheal
Blink and you'll miss it, you'll miss it still
My town's so small,
It doesn't have a shopping mall
Round here, that's like living in nowhere at all
Round here, that's like living in Nowhere-At-All

Emperor Gum - Cheltenham

Walk with me past swimming pools
Round traffic lights and screaming schools
Through business parks and broken roads
Past old Victorian abodes
Stroll on down the Promenade
Where Christmas lights make the trees starred
Where basement clubs play disco beats
And old stone shops sell boiled sweets
Where on a bench a Minatour
Sits by a hare without a roar
Where on a fountain Neptune's throne
By rows of stores with fashions shown
The tallest clockwork ever known
With wishing fish and bubbles blown
Models of the first jet engine
Plans to build a new wind turbine
Rolling Stones made out of bronze
Sit by the lake and feed the swans
Row a boat over the lakes
Falling leaves like copper flakes
From the earth the fabled spring
From which spa water fed the King
Which brought to pilgrims better health
And brought to Cheltenham its great wealth
Thousands come for gold cup race
With ladies dressed in hats and lace
Where famous horses wins have notched
As in the stands Queen Mother watched
Before you leave, please watch and talley
Streetlight that blaze through the valley
A brighter sky than up above
Look down upon the town I love
If memories are all we are
Then I exist in lanes and bars
With Gustav Holst, maybe his ghost
Will part to me his music's host

I first learned my presidents by the street signs running south
I knew time by the chimes of the clock on the courthouse
I could count to a hundred on the coal cars screaming west
I still remember that one-way turn that taught me right from left
It’s the fight song floating from the football field every Friday night in fall
It’s turning down Burlington Avenue & not hitting a red light at all
It’s a bonfire in a farmer’s field off a county road with no name
It’s the whole town coming out at midnight for the High School prom parade
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
When I learned to drive those streets myself there wasn’t far to go
The courthouse clock got stuck, it was right twice a day though
I would dream of hopping on those moaning, rolling trains
When we hung out in HyVee parking lot making late night plans
It’s the bronze man sitting on the stone park bench through sun and rain and snow
It’s going out for pizza and running into just about everyone you know
It’s grumbling about where to face the doors, & the tallest building only has three floors
It’s the five o’clock rush where all those workers go flying
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
I moved away for a little while
But I came back again
Like the cars that cruise Central Park
Everybody keeps circling
Doesn’t matter if they come around
for a year, a month a day
once Fairfield gets a hold on you
part of you will always stay
It’s the fight song floating from the football field every Friday night in Fall
It’s turning down Burlington Avenue & not hitting a red light at all
It’s a bonfire in a farmer’s field off a county road with no name
It’s the whole town coming out at midnight for the High School prom parade
It’s the bronze man sitting on the stone park bench through sun and rain and snow
It’s going out for pizza and running into just about everyone you know
It’s grumbling about where to face the doors, & the tallest building only has three floors
It’s the five o’clock rush where all those workers go flying
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
That’s Fairfield, Fairfield all the way
Think I'm gonna stay!

(spoken intro)
When I think back to the places I've lived
There's something, special, about all of them
And yet, and yet there's one place
That somehow stands apart
You know what I'm talking about
The people in town are all a buzzing
6 inches of snow is just a dusting
Walking by the side of the Erie Canal
But I'm still missing the place
Where we first had that embrace
It's got less sun than any other locale
Syracuse baby, It's my town
(been away so long, I need a coney dog)
There's plenty of things to do when you're feeling down
(Check out the leaves in fall, then you can hit the mall)
Don't eat your coneys at Heid's with a knife and a fork
It's the best large town in mid-central New York
Jamesville Beach- Balloons in the air
Varsity Wings and pitchers of beer
When you're in the mood, you gotta regatta
There are concentrations total
Cheering for the coxswain's yodel
Down the length of the brackish Onondaga
Syracuse, honey, I want to spend some time
(Belgian Waffle Fight - Eggplant up all night)
To remember when we both said you are mine
(You're on the wall it's true - at Dino BBQ)
That upside-down street light is really groovin'
Green's at the Tipp top, baby..., let's get movin'!
The music in town ain't no snooze
U2, the Police - intimate debuts
Then they played at the Dome, and made the place Rock
Harry Chapin at the landmark was more a treat.
His Benny concert had us on our feet
That old Krusty Cabbie had lines 'round the block
Syracuse, honey, has a place in my heart
('Bud' Vanderveer, got his start right here)
Like Eddie Flum Num, The Play Lady, Mr. Trolly's cart
(Butter sculpture chair - Pizza Fritte at the Fair)
It's the place I remember when we were young and free
It's my home town - Syracuse baby!

Copiague seemed so big when I was little
It seemed to take so long to walk
The 3 blocks to the shore
I forgot about the sound of the Atlantic
As it gently stroked the sand
Copiague held the taste of salty breezes
The sound of the seagulls arguing
The blue jays in the pines
It’s name meant sheltered harbor
From an ancient Indian word now long forgot
My hometown Copiague
What makes a town your home? Is it your school, the house you lived in?
What makes it home for you- is it the place you sleep today?
Why is Copiague different now, why am I a stranger?
It’s cause the people who I loved back then have gone away
30 years had passed since graduation
The house I thought of as my home looked so wrong to me
Cause the color changed, the trees all gone
Trapped within a fence, it all looked small
Blink and you would miss the town of Copiague
Think it part of one long town
All melted, all the same
Only welcome signs to let you know when you’ve left one and gotten to another
Another Copiague
What made it home when I was young? What makes it look so tiny?
That was my elementary school- when did it get so small?
The junior high, the senior high, marina and the beach
Now it's all tiny, now everybody’s gone and it’s just-Copiague
When did it get so small? What makes a town a home?
A home is where you love, and where you’re loved
My father died; my mother moved, there’s nobody left there
My husband, children, grandchildren all of them are here-
Everybody that I love is near to me now
And this is my home now-
But not in Copiague.

Swatshots - Level

The paper factory's burning
To the ground.
Better warn the cardboard people
Of this town.
I should take what I've pent up,
Give the fire some help.
Maybe level the Plainfield.
Maybe improve myself.
Such concentrated
Blasts of rage.
Not the sort of thing
You can blame
On a place on Earth...
Oh please.
The drill of God reached down from the sky
To scatter this place across the countryside.
So how can you say that I am so cold
When heaven itself hates this wretched hole?
So dreary and desolate
To a point I can't tolerate.
I don't even care what you believe.
I just want to leave.
The whole state is like this
You will find
By where one lives
One is not defined.
Grip that steering wheel
Till your hands turn blue.
Stumble upon someplace
Big enough for you.

Got these Alligator Boots with a mouth and a tail and I'm going to plant one up your big fat ass
Everything was fine 'till you came into my life
You turned my whole IT career on it's head
You came into my life….
and got me Fired
It was great as an IT DBA for cheap
I had time for myself and my work
But you came along and messed it all up
Micromanaged me, underneath your thumb
You came into my life….
and got me Fired
You came into my life…
and got me Fired
And it happened in Stillwater
I'm here and I'm unemployed
Yes welcome to Stillwater
But at least I get to play with my toys
Star Wars, xbox, comic books and Firefox
at least I get to play with my toys
World of Warcraft , waking up half past 3
You came into my life….
and got me Fired
You came into my life…
and got me Fired
You came into my life I taught you everything you knew then went and put a knife in my back
You wanted me to write down everything that I knew but I went and wiped my hard drive instead
I went and wiped my hard drive instead
Yes I wiped my hard drive instead
The story it's not over oh no not by a long shot
after you were done firing everyone
You then got promoted to the fancy VP spot where you can go boss everyone around
But I still wiped my hard drive instead --- Ha Ha, Ha Ha
Yes I still wiped my hard drive instead --- Ha Ha Ha, Ha Ha Ha
At least I get to play with my toys

Oh I'm a Demon Master, Mr Crowley was my slave
And as for Charlie Manson, well I'll see him to his grave
My conquests they are legion - phenomenal I swear
But lately I been tearin' out my ectoplasmic hair
Cos I just can't find a virgin and it makes me wanna cry
I just can't find a virgin and now I'm wonderin' why
Why I ever came to Dundee out of everywhere I've been
I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
My disciples have black masses, (they're diabolists, you know?)
And if virgin's blood just isn't spilled it really spoils the show
So I've come down from the north because they're really crude at Perth
But I think I may have stumbled on the filthiest place on earth
Cos I just can't find a virgin and it makes me wanna cry
I just can't find a virgin and now I'm wonderin' why
Why I ever came to Dundee out of everywhere I've been
I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
Now usually with women, you won't get very far
Cos even if you know they're not they always say they are
But here the stories different If you wander round this town
You'll see them in the alleys - dresses up and panties down
And I just can't find a virgin and it makes me wanna cry
I just can't find a virgin and now I'm wonderin' why
Why I ever came to Dundee out of everywhere I've been
I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
So I'm startin' to get worried, cos without pure flesh to bleed
If people try to summon me I cant take any heed
So I'm gonna leave this city cos they're ain't no virgins here
I'd probably have better luck down south in Soho square
Cos I just can't find a virgin and it makes me wanna cry
I just can't find a virgin and now I'm wonderin' why
Why I ever came to Dundee out of everywhere I've been
I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
And I still can't find a virgin and it makes me wanna cry
I still can't find a virgin and I'm still wonderin why
Why I ever stay in Dundee out of everywhere I've been
I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
And I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen
No I just can't find a virgin that's over seventeen,,,,

So long
This place has been a prison to me
So long
I’ve wanted nothing more than to leave
They said you’ll never find another place like home
I never believed, if only I’d known
If I leave you
Kalamazoo
I’ll am heading
From Home
Into a world unknown
Behind is familiar
So long
Into the darkness I go
In all of its splendor
I am heading from home
Phoenix, the firebird,
Returned to ashes.
Buried in sand, and
Smoldering.
I feel your fire
From home
This city means
Nothing to me
And if it did,
Do you think that
I would just turn
Around and come
Back home Even
If I did, could
I come back home
From Home
Into a world unknown
Behind is familiar
So long
Into the darkness I go
In all of its splendor
From Home
Into a world unknown
Behind is familiar
So long
Into the darkness I go

The castle stands proud and high
Clouds are gracing a bright blue sky
Angels sing and children dance
I open my eyes and cast a glance outside
The streets are clean, the houses shine
Out of my window, the town looks divine
The fields are green and the livestock fat
There's not a thing that I wouldn't smile at
Oh what a joy it is, living in the countryside
Bachte-Maria-Leerne is a great place, alright
We're all straight here, there's not a gay in sight
Just avoid the drunks, they are looking to fight
To fight
To fight
To fight
The butcher's meat comes from bred child
Everyone thinks human flesh tastes wild
At the local brothel, the girls are tight
Orgies go on all day and all night
The town’s population has a fatal flaw
I fear I have to fix it with a chain saw
All of a sudden everything is clear
I really need to get the hell out of here
Oh what a joy it is, living in the countryside
Bachte-Maria-Leerne is a great fucking place, alright
We're all Catholic here, there's not a Jew in sight
Just ignore the priest, he's abusing a child
Oh what a joy it is, living in the countryside
Bachte-Maria-Leerne is a great fucking place, alright
We're all Belgian here, there’s not a brain in sight
Just bulldoze this place, it's nothing more than a blight
Than a blight
Than a blight
Than a blight
